Short Bio


MARK P. PONCY, after earning graduate degrees in physiology and neurophysiology, went on to found the medical device firm, the Steridyne Corporation. An avid student of and contributor to the legal field of intellectual property, he holds 13 United States and foreign patents, more than a dozen trademarks, and 10 copyrights. Original doctoral research and development areas include gate theory/large fiber stimulation with ensuing pain block, and correlation of neurotransmitter levels with personality function. He developed the original curriculum, "Understanding and Participating in the Creative Process," which he has taught for accreditation at the preparatory school level. He is now consulting as a case analyst in the legal field.

Poncy remains active as a creative writer and composer, with two musical plays, three novels, numerous songs (two of which have won Billboard songwriting contests), a humor column, “Off the Mark”, and the publication "Manopause". His CD, "Cross Country Traveler," was nominated for Album of the Year by Country Tracker Magazine in 1995. His  musical, "Makeover: A Contemporary Fairy Tale," enjoyed two South Florida runs in 2008; his latest, “News at Eleven”, debuted in 2009 at the Duncan Theatre in a staged reading.


Poncy is currently expanding his novella, “Boomer Bust”, into a full novel, projected for completion in 2011.
